FASHION THIS WEEK
Guess What? Suits Can Be Sexy, Too
Not down with the gown? You’re not alone. Doutzen Kroes is just the latest among a slew of boldface names (actresses like Kristen Stewart and Susan Sarandon among them) to choose to stand out among long-skirted guests at the 69th International Cannes Film Festival and to opt for chic, sleek suiting instead. Just last night Kroes wore a pleated blue Calvin Klein pantsuit to the L’Oréal Paris Blue Obsession party for a touch of elevated executive realness, but it was on her Instagram this morning where Kroes put a refreshingly sexy spin on the ensemble. The supermodel wore a slouchy, tomboyish white pantsuit by Georgian designer Tamuna Ingorokva with a tiny black crop top to show off some well-toned midriff. A small touch that cinched the whole look together? A barely there necklace (a relief in a festival full of over-the-top jewels) and a thin black belt.
Still, Kroes kept her bare-beneath-the-blazer outfit grounded thanks to the pared-back choice of footwear: a pair of flat Gucci loafers. Seems like the well-heeled, borrowed-from-the-boys look is full speed ahead, complete with the red-hot supermodel stamp of approval.

In Game of Thrones, Back-to-School Fashion Looks a Lot Like Balmain
Spoilers ahead.
Watching the newly revived Jon Snow, walking uneasily through the grounds of Castle Black, sizing up his comrades and enemies, carries a familiar look: The first day back at school is always tough. The other watchers on the wall size up their Lord Commander with a scrutiny befitting middle school mean girls, but it’s less judgment than awe. “They think you’re some kind of god,” his pal Tormund tells him, as they embrace.
